Ignacio Palacios announces new exhibition this month
The stunning work of photographer Ignacio Palacios is to be exhibited at Ken Duncan's gallery in Erina, NSW from May 19.
Fascinated by colour and light, as a child Palacios was fascinated by colour and he loved painting and drawing. He has since chosen to embrace digital imaging technology to produce creative fine art work.
“I am a visually oriented person,” says Palacios, “and in school I could spend most of my time in my art assignments – to the point of obsession. I wasn’t much interested in maths or science, but I could spend a whole weekend experimenting with colour. I was a perfectionist and would break my art creations again and again until I considered them to be perfect.”
Landscapes were his favourite subjects and – following three generations of footsteps – photography became Palacios' preferred medium. Palacios now lives in Kiama, but has travelled far and wide to produce an impressive body of work. He shoots across several genres and his extraordinary images are a bold mix of sweeping landscapes, intricate aerial views and extraordinary wildlife portraits.
Australian photography legend Ken Duncan is well known as a passionate advocate of up and coming photographers, and he describes Palacios as one of Australia’s best.
Palacios will be available in the Gallery across both weekends of the exhibition to chat with visitors and share the stories behind many of his award-winning images. He will also be running two seminars on May 19th and May 20th, and will explain the processes he’s used to create high impact and highly regarded finished prints and share his story of how he became a travel and landscape photographer.
