7Artisans launches cut-price FF 85mm f/1.8 AF lens for Sony E

Lens manufacturer 7Artisans has expanded its autofocus lens offerings, by announcing the new full-frame 85mm f/1.8 AF lens for Sony E mount cameras.

The new lens means 7Artisans’ now offers three AF lenses, including the 50mm f/1.8 announced earlier this year and more recently a 27mm f/2.8 for Sony E and Nikon Z mounts.

The 85mm is made up of 10 elements in 8 groups, and features 11 aperture blades. 

It’s a compact lens, at only 72mm x 96mm, and weighs around 437g. Despite being pretty bare bones, it does feature a manual aperture ring and a dedicated AF/MF button. It'll also take a 62mm filter.

The new lens is available for pre-order now for just $299 USD ($456 AUD).
