The RF-S3.9mm F3.5 STM Dual Fisheye lens provides a left and right perspective in a compact unit.

Alongside the large depth of field, Canon says the lens makes it easy for users to set up and keep attention on their subject – with less concern about supporting equipment, such as lighting or tripods making it into the shot.

The APSC Stereoscopic VR lens has a 144º wide-angle view, and uses an Air Sphere Coating (ASC) to help minimise 'ghosting'.

A rear filter holder accommodates both 30.5mm screw-on filters and sheet-type filters (i.e. gelatin or polyester filters), and it features one-shot AF and Left/Right focus adjustment with a dedicated focus ring.

Canon says the wide field of view of the lens permits multiple methods of camera handling, from hand-holding, mounting on a gimbal, or tripod-mounting.

In addition, Canon’s EOS VR Utility software (separately available with a paid subscription) is designed for a smooth editing process of the VR files.

The lens is Canon's second VR lens, following 2021's full frame compatible RF 5.2mm F2.8L lens.

The RF-S3.9mm F3.5 STM Dual Fisheye lens will be available later this month at an RRP of $1,999.
