Leica adds D-Lux 8 to lineup
Leica has announced a new version of its compact Micro Four Thirds camera, the D-Lux 8.
The 17MP compact features a DC Vario-Summilux 10.9–34 f/1.7–2.8 ASPH. lens (24-75mm equiv.), and uses an OLED EVF, which should be an improvement on the EVF on its predecessor the D-Lux 7, even though the resolution is unchanged.
Unfortunately you're getting the same image sensor and built-in zoom lens as the 7 too, which is a bit of a bummer.
Leica says the new camera, which comes out some 21 years after the first D-Lux, will offer a series of reduced-resolution crops, similar to those offered by the Leica Q series, and there is also 'seamless' connectivity with the Leica FOTOS app and USB-C charging.
In addition, a new range of accessories, including a hand grip, carrying straps, wrist straps, and leather protectors, will also be available at launch in multiple colours. The camera also comes with a bundled flash.
The Leica D-Lux 8 will be available in Australia July 2nd through the Leica Online Store. It'll set you back $2,790.
