New underwater drone looks and swims like a fish
If you think drones are everywhere now, wait till you start bumping into them underwater.
Robosea has designed a new underwater drone that mimics the movement of a fish. The Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) titled BIKI can capture 4K videos and pictures which are shareable to personal mobile devices.
The manufacturer claims BIKI is 30% more efficient than standard UUVs and also features an infra-red positioning sensor to avoid obstacles and manoeuvre intelligently. It can operate for up to 150 minutes, up to 200 feet underwater.
It's fishy facade makes it a good choice to film skittery sea creatures but unlike it's aerial cousin you're encouraged to film in populated areas.
You can find out more about BIKI on Robosea's Kickstarter page.
