Nikon confirms Nikkor Z 28-135mm f/4 Power Zoom is coming
Nikon has announced that it is developing its first full-frame video lens, the Nikkor Z 28-135mm f/4 PZ.
The “PZ” in the product name stands for “power zoom," Nikon's name for its internal motor that manages the zoom range via the zoom rocker on the side of the lens body.
Nikon says the lens is designed to provide ease of use and superior optical performance for video recording, supporting efficient recording for documentaries and location work by a solo videographer or small crew.
Although its likely the lens has been in development before Nikon's acquisition of RED Cinema earlier this year, the new lens does signal that Nikon is taking its position in the videography space seriously.
Unfortunately we don't have much else to report, but we'll take a closer look at the lens once it's out.
