Sigma launches three new prime lenses
Sigma has announced a trio of new premium full-frame prime lenses for Sony E-mount and the Leica/Panasonic/Sigma L-mount, the 24mm F3.5, 35mm F2 and 65mm F2 DG DN Contemporary lenses.
All three lenses offer built-in aperture rings, and inside they feature by-wire manual focus dials driven by stepping motors.
The lenses feature varying numbers of elements -10 in the 24mm F3.5 and 35mm F2, and 12 elements in the 65mm F2. A combination of both SLD and aspherical glass in all three lenses will help manage ghosting and flare.
The 24mm F3.5 has a minimum focus distance of 11cm, the 35mm F2 a minimum focus distance of 27cm and the 65mm F2 a minimum focus distance of 55cm.
All three lenses come with newly-designed metal lens caps that attach magnetically, but will also ship with more traditional plastic pinch-type lens caps as well.
No local pricing or availability has been confirmed yet, but in the US the 24mm F3.5, 35mm F2 and 65mm F2 lenses will retail for $549, $639 and $699, respectively.
