Sony launches 'world's fastest' multi-function USB hub
Sony has announced a new USB hub which the company is calling the the world’s fastest UHS-II SD/microSD card reader.
The MRW-W3 USB Hub is aimed at photographers, videographers and creators, and features USB 3.1 Gen 2 and up to 100W USB Power Delivery (USB PD) and HDMI output capability support. The reader supports read rates up to 300MB/s and ultra-high-speed data transfer of up to 1000MB/s.
The hub also offers 100W power delivery for monitors and other power-hungry peripherals. There's a plethora of connection options, including an HDMI output with 4K 30fps capabilities for connecting to external monitors.
Alongside the hub Sony has also announced new SF-M Tough SD cards will be available in 64, 128 and 256GB versions. The SF-M tough specification SD card is, according to Sony, the world’s toughest UHS-II SD card that is shockproof and has the highest-grade waterproof and dustproof levels.The MRW-S3 and SF-M TOUGH will be available in Australia from November 2019.
