Tamron's first Canon RF lens is coming soon
Tamron has confirmed it's set to launch its first lens for Canon's RF mount, the 11-20mm F2.8 Di III-A RXD, next month.
The APS-C lens is currently available on Sony's E-mount and Fujifilm's X mount, but marks Tamron's first foray into RF glass, following Canon's decision to open up the mount to third party lens manufacturers earlier this year.
According to Tamron, the 11-20mm F2.8 is built around 12 elements in 10 groups, and has two glass molded aspherical elements, one XLD element and two LD elements. With the 1.6x crop on APS-C, it'll be equivalent to about 18-32mm.
The lens also has Tamron's second-generation anti-reflective coating, along with a fluorine coating on the front element.
The new lens will weigh 340g, and is 84mm long. It accepts a 67mm filter.
The lens becomes the third non-Canon glass available for RF, alongside the Sigma 10-18mm F2.8 and 18-50mm F2.8.
The Tamron 11-20mm F2.8 Di III-A RXD will set you back $1,199, and is available from 12 December. You can find out more on Tamron's website.
