Hi Alex,
Nothing beats going out to try new camera, but regardless of whether a camera is old or new, the challenges of making a good photograph remain the same.
This environment has some interesting potential, of which one of the most obvious is that clash of colours. What is letting this photograph down for me though, is that I'm finding a real lack of visual focus. I see the nozzles of the spray cans easy enough but when I go to look beyond them I just see a soft ambiguous background and some distracting highlights.
Without moving the camera at all, the one thing that you could have done to improve this photograph is simply to increase the depth of field. I have to say I am not certain how to do this on your new camera, but ideally you want to get a smaller aperture happening preferably about f11 or f16.
One other simple thing that you could have done in making this photograph is to remove the white object from the lower right hand side of the picture. If you hold your hand over this part of the picture will see that improve the picture immediately.
Hopefully you get a chance to visit this factory site again soon.
Cheers, Anthony.
