This is one of those abstract images that, when treated properly, can have a viewer conjuring all sorts of ideas about what it might be.
As the image is at the moment, there are only a couple of things that I would change. One would be to adjust the cropping so that it appears as if there is a horizon line in the image. The second adjustment I would make is to clone out the highlight from the left of the picture. Finally I would use the Dodge toll to light up the beam of light in the upper half of the picture. Make these adjustments (see below) and I think the image looks stronger.
Now there is one other idea you might try if you get a chance. I would love to see this situation turned into a diorama with the help of a couple of small Lego astronauts! With the help of some Blu Tack I think two figures just standing off to the edge of this beam of light could turn the image totally surreal!! Worth a look I reckon!!
