Great close up of this hawk, but to answer your question...
You wanted to know where those stars in this eagle's eye came from and how you can repeat this effect. I am not immediately certain why there are two highlights in this bird’s eyes. I do have two theories though.
To begin with, most eyes usually reflect light in a perfect fashion. Looking at this photo my first theory is that the bird can actually see two bright lights.
I am guessing that one of those highlights is caused by the sunlight striking the bird’s eye directly while the second highlight is actually the sun being reflected off another surface inside the bird’s cage.
As a second theory though, and this is one that I am not really qualified to have an opinion on, but perhaps there are two surfaces within this bird's eye that are reflecting the sunlight. If you want to fathom this idea, just remember that often you will see two sets of reflections if you look through a double glazed window, or if you look into your camera lens on a sunny day you will see more than one reflection of the sun.
If anyone has a better theory we'd love to hear it.
