Hi Jessica,
As soon as I saw this image I was reminded of the movie, Monty Python’s Meaning of Life when Eric Idle and Michael Palin, emerge from some bushes wearing a tiger costume. If you have a look at the scene on Youtube you will see a very similar, quizzical tiger face. They look so cute right up until they take a bite, of your leg, as was the case in the scene.
As for what I would do to improve this image; I would crop out the tiny bit of wooden bench in the bottom of the picture, and then just clone out the highlights above the tiger’s back. As soon as you do that you will discover that there are fewer distractions to take you away from the tiger itself.
One other adjustment that you can make to this photograph is to brighten the tiger’s eye in the right of the picture. The simplest way to do this is to use the Lasso tool in Photoshop to select the eye; just make sure that you use a small amount of feathering so that the adjustment is not too noticeable. Now go to the Curves adjustment and move the middle of the curve so that the eye starts to brighten.
All going well you should have a more engaging photograph of this tiger now.
Cheers for now, Anthony.
