I don’t usually try to do back to back image reviews for the same person, but today you got lucky.
As with the other photo that you have submitted this month, the seascape, you really need to consider what the different parts of the picture are offering a viewer. In this instance all of the interest is in the centre of the frame but up top the sky is rather boring and in the foreground those rocks don’t look much better either.
In this instance I would be inclined to crop this image to a square. All you need to do then is to use the Curves tool to brighten the image and add some contrast and you are in business.
One last thing. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul. The next time you are in this situation, call out and see if your mate will take his glasses off… chances are he might do that and still continue to stare into the water for you!
