For a start… I am not quite sure this bike qualifies as “old skool”… those wheels look rather modern from where I am sitting! (In my day bikes had thin metal spokes).
The black and white treatment in this photo might qualify as old school though.
If I was going to make a statement about this bike, I do not think I would just be putting it up against a nice timber fence and a manicured gravel driveway. I would be more inclined to try and create a stronger sense of place in the image.
One option might be to take the bike down to the local BMX track and then photograph it against a background of mud and jumps.
Another option might be to get one of you mates to ride the bike while you take photos. That would help add context to the image.
Then there is the issue of design. This angle does gives us a good view of the number plate but I think a profile view, along with a more interesting angle could have energised this image some more.
If you haven't sold this bike on eBay in the past few weeks get out there and have another go at this image.
