Hi Kelly,

Thanks for sending in this image; I like what you have achieved here.

I know what you are talking about when you discuss the challenges of working in small kitchens; our last kitchen was so small the rats had to send in mice to do their dirty work! That being said, when you can learn to work in a small space, working in a larger space is a breeze.

Overall, there is not a lot that I would change with this photograph, the colour and the composition are all working well and even the concept is good. All three subjects are looking rather ghostly because they weren't standing in the one place for the entire exposure. This is a very acceptable approach to this image.

There is one thing that I would change though; I would like to have seen more motion blur in the subjects. For the moment they are just looking a bit staged and static.

As an option I would keep the subjects in similar places, but as you begin each photograph I would give everybody a signal to make more movement through the exposure. I think the resulting image will have more swirl and drama. Make a few photos from the tripod but just for good measure I would also try hand-holding a few exposures at roughly the same zoom settings and camera angle. If you are sneaky, you can then add the hand-held shots as a layer on top of the tripod mounted shots; you can then use the opacity adjustment in layers to pull back the opacity of the handheld photo so that you end up with the two combined images appearing as one.

Good effort though… Keep up the good work.
