April 'The Ocean' free monthly photo comp: The winners!

Congratulations to Matt Mayo, who's image Man and his "Bestie" at Byron Bay has taken out our free monthly photo comp for April. The theme was The Ocean.

Matt takes home a 12-month subscription to either AP or Capture mag as his prize for winning the comp this month.

AP Editor Mike O'Connor said there was something very evocative about the image that made it stand out.

"I think this image is so great because the viewer feels a real part of the scene - you can imagine yourself sitting there on a warm evening watching the waves down at the beach," he said.

Mike also selected two special mentions, Natalie Arber's Ocean eyes, and Danny Lee's Lunar Landing. 

Over on Facebook, Kobi McCombie took out the people's choice with 158 votes at competition close, for his image Nostalgia - Surfer in the Bay.

Kobi takes home a 12 month digital subscription to either AP or capture magazine for winning our People's choice.
