Earlier this year, Australian swimming champion Geoff Huegill congratulated the seven winners of the first-ever Surf Life Saving (SLS) and Nikon Australian for Life photo competition.

The SLS and Nikon initiative ran for six weeks and saw hundreds of Australians embrace the outdoors, get active and photograph their quintessential Australian moment on camera.

Judges of the competition were Geoff Huegill, Nikon Ambassador and one of the Australia’s leading sport’s photographers Mark Watson, and Ironwoman Champion Naomi Flood.

The seven winners were as follows:

NSW – Geraldine Lefoe of Mount Kembla
VIC – Michelle Odgers of Strathmore
QLD – Michael Shepherd of Benowa
NT – Angela Morris of Nhulunbuy
TAS – Casey Jones of Dodges Ferry
WA – Nada Pantle of Broome
SA – Malcolm Edward-Cole of Eastwood

The seven winners received a Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera Twin Lens Kit valued at $1,449, a Nikon School “Introduction to DSLR” one day course enrolment valued at $249, as well as a photographic education day with Nikon Ambassadors Mark Watson Delly Carr and David Oliver.
