The October issue of Australian Photography is full of handy tips on landscape shooting from 11 of this country’s top outdoor photographers, advice on shooting architecture, and lots more great features.
The October issue of Australian Photography + digital magazine reviews the favourite shooting locations of 11 of our top landscape photographers, and then picks up tips from all of them on how to make the best images when you visit. In a packed October issue there is also a handy feature where three professional architecture shooters offer advice on how they capture great images of the built environment, a story on a spectacular light-painting trick, and a feature with a different slant on shooting travel images.
In our outdoor photography special we talk to experts like well-known panoramic photographer Ken Duncan, travel specialist Richard I’Anson, and wildlife and travel shooter Steve Parish about their favourite Australian bush locations. While some places are prominent, you might be surprised by some of the outstanding lesser-known scenic locales these seasoned veterans have nominated.
Rob Ditessa has interviewed three professionals from the field of architecture photography about how they got into the genre, and what tips they recommend if you want to try your hand at this challenging style of shooting. In another feature on light tricks, Drew Hopper outlines the steps he takes in working up an impressive light-painting technique he’s developed while shooting in storm drains (making sure, of course, that there’s no rain on the horizon!), and Editor Robert Keeley spells out a different approach you can try with your overseas travel photography to add more impact to your portfolio.
As well, this issue features all our regular columns, with the Your Best Shot photo competition focussing this month on the colour ‘red’, our Q&A page in which Prashphutita Greco answers all our readers’ queries, and Saima Morel’s advice on how to improve readers’ photos in our popular Image Doctor series.
