While it’s tempting to pack your gear away when the weather turns ugly, we all know that's often the best time for shooting. The challenge then is keeping your gear dry when the skies open. One solution is Kata’s new lineup of all-weather camera covers.
Pro-Light Elements Covers are designed to fit a range of different camera and lens sizes. The covers slip over the camera and allow access to the lens and camera controls via side sleeves that can be opened and closed via one-handed pull cords. A large clear plastic window on the back of the cover lets you see through to the camera, its controls and the LCD screen. A full-length double zipper provides bottom closure when the camera is hand held or mounted on a tripod.
There are four configurations in the range. The PLE690 ($70) is designed to fit a superzoom compact with a protruding lens or a consumer DSLR with a small lens. The PLE702 ($100) fits a pro DSLR with a zoom lens up to 200mm. The PLE-705 ($125) can accommodate a pro DSLR, a professional flash and a 70-200mm lens. An additional cover, the PLE704 ($115), consists of two lens sleeves (350 and 650 mm long), and can be attached to the PLE702 or PLE705 to allow those covers to accommodate longer lenses.
The covers are distributed in Australia by Adeal.
