Sony has unveiled a new external flash for use with its Alpha SLR and SLT models. The HVL-F43AM has a guide number of 43 (at 105mm, ISO 100) and features the same pivoting head as the larger HVL-F58AM. As well as tilting up 150° and down 10° the flash can pivot 90 degrees left and right to maintain a horizontal light position even when shooting vertically.
A new bracket has also been announced, the VCT-55LH, which allows accessories including flash and microphones to be attached “off camera”.
