November 'Countryside' free monthly photo comp - the winners!

Huge congratulations to Phillip Johnson who has won our November 'Countryside' photo competition with his image, Windmill as selected by photographer Paula Heelan. 

Here's Paula's take on the image:

Phillip's mix of fading, golden light (or is rising sun?) and dust across a dry landscape has created a soft, iconic shot of the Australian countryside. And by including light and dark shadows, lines and curves in his composition, the overall appeal of the image is heightened.

Paula also chose three special mentions, Bird on a Fence by Meg Nurse, Lonely Cottage by Tatiana Podmore and Diesel with No Dust by Shelley McKiernan, which also took out our People's choice vote on Facebook with a whopping 286 votes at competition close.
