A new line of instant film is now available in Australia for Polaroid 600 cameras. Brands Australia, the local distributors of Polaroid imaging products, is distributing instant film made by The Impossible Project, which will be compatible with classic Polaroid 600 instant cameras. The manufacturer says PX 680 Colour Protection film aims to "bring back the unique performance and look of the most successful classic Polaroid films".

It says the film is based on a new formula, because original components of classic Polaroid film are no longer available. The film has been invented and manufactured by the Impossible Project team at the former Polaroid production plant in the Netherlands, and the PX 680 film is designed to increase accessibility and usability of the new Impossible instant film. "This is a defining moment of the Polaroid movement, the time where Polaroid fans can finally dust off their old cameras and re-live the magic of taking a real and unique analogue instant photo." said General Manager, John Rule.

The Impossible Project team says the new film, compatible with the popular Polaroid 600 cameras, will allow long-term fans to re-live instant film photography and for new fans to experience it for the first time. "This film carries the legacy of classic Polaroid instant photos with a unique vintage feel which can only be achieved by analogue instant photography. It encourages the creativity, emotion, and inspiration that have always been core values of Polaroid users' worldwide." said Rule.

The new Impossible PX680 Colour Protection film will be available in February from specialty photographic retailers.

Impossible has invented and manufactured new analogue instant films for classic Polaroid 600, SX 70 and Image/Spectra cameras, as well as for 8x10 cameras. The manufacturer also creates limited special film editions, while Impossible Project Spaces in New York City, Paris, Tokyo and Vienna serve as hubs for analogue instant photography. Beyond carrying all available analogue films and cameras, a wide range of exhibitions, workshops and artistic projects are on view at every Impossible location.
