A remote control spinning tripod head to make shooting panoramas easier has been released by Polaroid in the US and UK.
The Panorama Eyeball Head is designed to fit atop a tripod or can be used to stand on its own feet.
The product is made to accommodate both DSLRs and smaller compact cameras via a ¼” threaded screw connection.
The Panorama Eyeball Head's control unit connects with the head via an IR link which manages speed and direction of rotation.
The head is capable of turning a full 360° and Polaroid says careful gearing ensures smooth motion in operation. There are five speed modes and a setting that provides three fixed viewpoints up to 75° apart.
The head is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery to provide up to five hours of standby time, and can be recharged via a powered USB port.
Currently available online, the Polaroid Panorama Eyeball Head is yet to be released locally.
