Australian audio manufacturer RØDE has unveiled a new digital wireless system and two new shotgun microphones suitable for use with DSLR and mirrorless cameras.

The company's new digital wireless system, RØDELink, uses a series II 2.4GHz digital transmission with 128-bit encryption and is able to constantly monitor and hop between frequencies to maintain the strongest signal level at a range of up to 100 metres. The RØDELink Filmmaker Kit includes a receiver, transmitter and broadcast-grade Lavalier microphone. The receiver (RX-CAM) features an OLED display with information on level, battery status (receiver and transmitter), mute and channel selection. The receiver can be mounted on a standard camera shoe mount (in one of two positions), 3/8" thread, or belt-clip. The lightweight transmitter (TX-BELT) can be fitted to a belt or clothing and features a locking thread to ensure the microphone connection is secure. The RØDELink Filmmaker kit will be available in April 2015.

In one of it's biggest launches to date RØDE also announced two new shotgun microphones, the NTG4 and NTG4+, which offer noticeably lower noise and higher sensitivity compared to their predecessors, the NTG1 and NTG2.

Both mics benefit from a new capsule design, and intuitive digital switching to control the in-built high-pass filter, pad (-10dB) and high frequency boost. In a world first for a professional shotgun microphone the NTG4+ includes an internal rechargeable lithium battery. The battery provides 150 hours of operation with a USB charge time of two hours. The mic can be charged from a computer, power-brick or even your car. The NTG4 and NTG4+ will be available in February 2015.
