SPW and BridgeClimb say that the new workshops will allow participants to 'master camera settings, explore creative composition, and receive real-time feedback from professional photographers, all while capturing Sydney’s iconic landmarks and breathtaking harbour views from the Gun Deck of the South-East Pylon—a vantage point typically closed to the public.'

It's not the first time that one of Sydney’s most iconic structures has been opened up for photographers, with an 'Artists in Residence' programme running on the bridge in 2020 and 2021.

Daniel Linnet, Principal Tutor at Sydney Photographic Workshops, described the new workshops as unique.

"The South-East Pylon provides an extraordinary vantage point for photographers to capture the essence of Sydney," he said.

With two-hour sunrise, sunset, and night workshops, participants will have access to the Pylon Gun Deck, offering unobstructed views to photograph the Harbour Bridge, Opera House, and the city skyline.

The South-East Pylon has become a coveted location for photographers, with renowned names like Eugene Tan of Aquabumps and Matt Pearson capturing its views over the years.

The workshops are priced from $249 per person, and start on 7 September.
