Fujifilm
is set to release a premium wide conversion lens for its X100
digital camera.
The
Fujifilm WCL-X100 attaches directly on to the Fujifilm X100 lens, changing its
focal length from an already wide 23mm (35mm equivalent) to an even wider 19mm.
Fujifilm
claims the conversions lens “delivers exceptional image quality even at the f/2
wide aperture setting, retaining all the original optical characteristics
including the attractive bokeh effect.”
A new
firmware update for the camera, 1.3.0, will allow the camera to apply image
processing to shots captured with the WCL-X100 to reduce image distortion.
The Fujifilm WCL-X100
is expected to be available in July 2012 with an RRP of $399.
