Video: A beginner's guide to flash photography

Flash photography is one of those things that can cause even seasoned pros to break out in a cold sweat, so we're always looking for new resources that break down this most fundamental of photography skills. 

Put together by Westcott Lighting, this in-depth 1hr 20 minute video is one of the best we've found, and provides a solid introduction to flash photography by photographer Brandon Heiss. 

The video touches on the why and when of using additional lighting, how to improve results using flash and then shares a few ideas for getting creative, along with plenty of practical examples along the way.

It also keeps things largely simple on the gear front - a simple speedight, trigger, and modifier are all you need to get started.
