Video: Composition with landscape photographer Joe Cornish
Joe Cornish is surely one of Britain's greatest ever landscape photographers, but he's also a relative new convert to YouTube, which is why this video captured in Scotland's Fisherfield Wilderness with him is such a treat.
Captured by Alex Nail in August, Joe goes through his technical and creative process at length while setting up and capturing his shot, and also reflects on how he enjoys complex landscape scenes, something that's almost an antithesis in much modern landscape photography.
In addition, Joe also breaks down how he sets up his Phase One to avoid converging lines, and his use of polarising filters.
We especially liked how the analysis of Joe's work extends beyond the field, with Alex discussing the compositional challenges of the image captured in the field too.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy the pleasure of watching an absolute master at work.
If you want to see more of Joe's work, the photographer recently teamed up with Colin Prior and Sigma UK for a new YouTube series. You can watch the trailer below.
