Kay Comino, A Morining with the Splendid Wren (ANIMAL & NATURE 2024)

I was waiting for my friend to arrive at the Lakes for our walk to check on the koalas. As I was just sitting and watching the lake, a Splendid Wren popped up on the bush right near me. The early morning light was just stunning so I pointed my camera. Well he was not shy and stuck a pose that would make the best models jealous. He readjusted, stretched his legs and flew off. That was it - or so I thought. Within a few minutes, he was back on a second bush right infront of me. Totally saturated. Clearly, he had popped out for his morning bath. The morning light was still absolutely stunning. So I pointed my camera again and I swear, he posed for me yet again. He was looking directly at me - daring me to NOT take his photo. What a little attention seeker. Photos are just stunning. I have never caught a Splendid Wren after a bath. Light breeze. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I will always look back on with very fond memories.
