Island scenes captured this year during the humpback whale migration in Tonga. Above the water I was met by that rustic island life that I thought tourism had destroyed. People walking to Church on a Sunday morning with pigs and chickens hot on there heels. Locals who were more interested in going about normal life than trying to please tourists. Below the surface I had one of those encounters you hope can be translated. Two strangers of the sea staring back at each other.. one flick of the tale and you were left treading water wondering if it was real.
