Annika Dahlberg, A whale's tale (ANIMAL & NATURE 2022)
Along their annual migration, humpback whales stop over in Hervey Bay QLD for a rest before they continue their southbound journey. These whales go through many hardships along the way and each have their own story to tell. Many whales have scars and markings along their tails and pectoral fins which may show what they have been through. I managed to capture these images of different female whales and some had their young calves by their side. These images were taken on different days with these stunning moody skies. This created a beautiful contrast which made the whales stand out against the dark sky.
