Nick Djukanovic, A World of Perspective (Landscape 2017)

NDP1 - Coalcliff pool in the Illawarra is just up from its more famous neighbour Sea Cliff Bridge. From the ground it looks like any other ocean pool but from the sky it transforms into a powerful scene that invokes images of a decaying world crumbling away.. NDP2 - This shot often gets called a fake. It's not a composite! It's in fact a vertical panorama of two photos stitched together. I spent over a year planning and waiting for the perfect time and weather to pull this off. I was ecstatic to finally pull it off! NDP3 - I take my camera with my everywhere under advisement of my late grandfather who told me to do so some 20 odd years ago. It certainly pays off on days like this! I was driving home from work, sitting in traffic, noticing the sky starting to colour up. I pulled over and found the first spot I could with happened to be on the Cook River in Kyeemagh. Unplanned shoots sometimes work out the best! NDP4 - I love a challenge, and doing long exposures on a drone is certainly up there! You need a balance of calm skies and rough water to pull off these beautifully silky textures!
