Zol Straub, After the Ashes (Landscape 2019)

These images were taken about two months after the Shark Creek fires that threatened the town of Yamba on the far north coast of NSW. It shows the remarkable regenerative powers and resilience of the Australian bush. Light painting techniques were used whereby a torch and/or a flash was used to illuminate the scene, and in one particular photo, a flash was used to overpower the ambient light to achieve control over the light quality and direction.
