Geoff Treagus, Angels (PEOPLE 2024)
These four photos are part of a larger body of work I am developing. I find angels interesting, in that not only are they a part of a number of religious narratives, but they also appear to be a bridge of sorts between the human world and the wider world beyond, including the natural world. Thus the bird like wings. Whatever the case, stories of angels can be about beings that are good, bad, serious, fun, enigmatic and mysterious, and so on. I feel that in regards to these four photos, I had the perfect model, who excelled in portraying a wide range of expressions and styles, and whose enthusiasm was contagious. We worked well together, never losing focus of the sense of narratives wanting to be achieved, yet at the same time, we had a lot of fun! I am certainly grateful for the collaboration, and what was achieved! I used a Canon M6 mark I, with a Canon EF 50mm F1.8 lens, via lens adaptor for this, with a mix of natural and artificial light.
