Gary King, Australasian Gannet Colony (ANIMAL & NATURE 2023)

This is only Gannet breeding colony on the Australian mainland. Its population is increasing due to feral predator control and limited visitation (with a ranger) to minimise any disturbance to nesting birds. My photos were taken late afternoon with the sun behind me. The images show the colony, the beauty of flight, arriving with seaweed nesting material and finally a show of affection between two gannets who mate for life.
