Drew Buckmaster, Black and white studies (LANDSCAPE 2024)

Black and white tonal studies strip away colour, leaving the essence of an urban landscape. Buildings transform into a symphony of greys, their textures - smooth glass, rough brick - emphasised by the play of light and shadow. Lines and shapes take centre stage, creating a stark, graphic composition. The absence of colour forces the eye to appreciate the interplay of light and dark, revealing the city's hidden geometry and the quiet drama that unfolds within.
