Christine Goerner, Blokes and Sheilas (SINGLE SHOT 2022)
The facilities at an abandoned roadhouse show an insight into the built environment of the once bustling, but now almost deserted mining town of Iron Knob in South Australia. Architecture, typography, even a painted mural, along with classic Aussie slang, a sign of the times revealing a lot about our culture and the Australian way of life in rural locations. It brought back decades-old memories, when our family would stop at places like these on our road trips.
