Kathy Brown, Blue-banded Bee (ANIMAL & NATURE 2024)

The beautiful Blue-banded bee, native to Australia busy attending to its unique "buzz pollination" technique which actually vibrates flowers to release pollen. They are a solitary bee, unlike honey bees, nesting in burrows or soft mortar and are gentle by nature. They are an absolute delight to watch, non aggressive and so very pretty! This one i captured in the Coffs Coast Regional Botanical Gardens, Coffs Harbour, NSW.
