Grace Lee, Bombo Kiama Impressions (LANDSCAPE 2020)
The south coast area Bombo and Kiama, where the sea makes a noise, where mother nature meets father time. The unusual basalt columns of Bombo Headland make it feel as though you’re walking on the moon. These rock formations are a product of the region’s rich mining history and blue metal quarrying in the 1880s and 1900s, along with centuries of exposure to the powerful ocean forces. Head even further south to the famous photogenic Cathedral Rocks upright formations. They are truly ‘out of this world’! I have visited there many times and try to shot the best photo. The last time I went the waves suddenly high then 1.70, it took me waving between rocks......lucky I finally held a rock and got out of the cave.....
