Bob Walpole, Breakfast with Coastal Birds of Prey (Wildlife and Animal 2017)
Being a keen bird photographer, it has been difficult to get quality images of raptors hunting in their natural habitat. in this case the coastal fringe between the Noosa North Shore and Double Island Point in South East Queensland. I have spent the last 12 months trying to capture these birds doing what they do best. 'Fishing'. The only way to see them is by 4WD on the beach early morning and when the fish are running. Large schools of these fish get very close to the shoreline allowing these magnificent birds to grab breakfast. Frustrating photographically as you never know when it will happen. Constantly scanning the sky and ocean for movement.....trial and error eventually brings a reward of images worth keeping. I hope you like them.
