PETER BARRIEN, Bridging the Generations in Bhutan (People and Portrait 2017)

Bhutan is a country with one foot firmly in Buddhism and the old traditions, and another trying to navigate a path to Western ideas. While in Bhutan I set myself a task of reflecting their culture through portraits of the generations. These images illuminate the bridge between the elders as guardians of this ancient culture, and the young taking tentative steps towards their future.
