Renato Langersek, Bushfire Sunset (LANDSCAPE 2020)
In 2019 bushfires raged over Australia and caused horrifying damage. I would like to acknowledge the hardship caused by those fires and the great work done by all the emergency services during this disaster. Not to get in the way of operational crews, I stayed away from the fires and only took images in my local suburb. As the fires caused a lot of smoke, Sunsets turned in a splendor or red and orange color which presented a great photo opportunity. I like pushing my equipment to the limits and and my four images show the setting Sun in stages from entering the smoke haze, through to actually almost disappearing at the horizon with progressively increasing focal length.
