Stephen Laurence, Camouflage (LANDSCAPE 2020)
I spend a lot of time walking the coast often going back to the same spots and seeing how the shapes, colours, reflections, change depending on the colours of the sky, the tides, the swell, the various types of seaweed in that particular area. When I find what I consider a good location I would pick a time to shoot it, which can take several attempts. The colours can be so vivid at the right time. These images haven't had a saturation boost (some a HDR merge), if the sun is reflecting at the right moment there are bright greens and oranges. I call this series ‘camouflage’ as the seaweed encapsulates what lays underneath it causing a camouflage blanket over its surroundings.
