Kathy Brown, Catbird in my Garden (ANIMAL & NATURE 2022)
this beautiful green catbird (Ailuroedus crassirostris) and it's family often visit our tiny suburbian courtyard along with a lot of other wildbirds. We have native plants, some fruits, vegetables and a bird bath which attracts the birds from the reserve nearby. The green catbird is a very shy bird making it difficult to capture as they move so fast but i was lucky enough on this rainy day to have the birds visit for most of the day providing a perfect opportunity. The green catbird is a species of Bowerbird and they make very unusual cries that sound like a cat, hence their name. Captured in my garden, Sawtell NSW.
