Jacob Vincent Ball, Change, Light & Faith (Travel 2018)
Myanmar is an exciting place to be right now. As the countries former political exiles, foreign investors and enthusiastic adventurers flock in it's the modernising of Yangon that reflects the changes that have occurred since the country reopened. But in few ways Myanmar has stayed the same as the people remain focused largely on their faith, as devotion to Buddhism in this country is by far one of the most committed. The importance of paying respects to Buddha is above many other aspects of peoples lives as it is believed that with faithful worship, everything else will fall into place. Once a year everything else stands still as the annual pilgrimage to religious sites around the country begins in celebration of the Tazaungdaing Festival of Light.
