Darnel Eparaima, Communal Bathing, our norm (People and Portrait 2019)

Communal Bathing is routine for many families in our geothermal valley, Te Whakarewarewa, Rotorua, NZ. We have used this bath for many generations and it has great medicinal benefits for our skin, hair and bodies. This thermal bath can bathe up to 30 people at one time, and we all bathe completely naked, with no concerns. Camera's are a rare sight at this bath and its quite uncommon to capture images from such a personalised perspective.
