Deborah Cummings, Conversation (People and Portrait 2019)

We met this Chinese man at his leather store. He became deeply involved in a philosophical discussion with my friend to the point that at one stage his dilemma even made her cry. I tried to tell his story through his various emotions in the photos and yet at the same time maintain the warmth in the room from all his leather products hanging around him. I didn't want to isolate him from these bags etc. but to include them to tell his story.
