Amanda Stuart, Courage and Stoicism - a united couple (PEOPLE 2024)

I have known this couple for a few years; he is 91, she is 88. In spite of significant health problems, they still do road trips on his Harley Davidson around Victoria. Traumatised by what he witnessed in Vietnam, he suffers insomnia and other difficulties but you would never know. They never complain. I have wanted to take their photo on the Harley for ages, before it's too late. I had to plan the shoot as the bike weighs 400 kgs and is difficult to manoeuvre. I also wanted the weather to be suitable. These are the first photos he has ever seen of the pair of them on the bike and it means a great deal to him. He particularly likes the photo of his wife hopping on the bike!
