Jason Savage , Critical Sumatra (Wildlife and Animal 2017)

Whilst out waking and documenting conservation efforts with The Rangers of Tangkahan on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, we bumped into this beautiful big male orangutan and his females. The sad thing is he is right on the edge of the jungle, unable to reach old fruiting trees because the jungle had been cut down and replaced with palm oil plantations. With only around 8000 orangutans left in Sumatra, it's critical times for the species.
